ABOUT

Tuna are an independent thinking game production company who specialise in creating unique concepts and developing collaborative projects.

We’re currently focused upon innovative digital content for the Internet or for digital distribution. These projects may be designed entirely in-house or in conjunction with independent designers. We’re also actively exploring the new opportunities offered by cross platform digital media, particularly in partnership with television broadcasters.

In addition to regular development, we offer a consultancy service for companies outside the traditional game industry wanting to explore their creative gaming ideas or to learn about the games market.

We blog our current projects on TunaSnax, as well as write about indie game news, pop culture, and anything else that takes our fancy.

Since we came into existence in 1996, the final days of the 16-bit era, we have completed over 70 commercial projects, The best known brands we’ve worked with include the brilliant television series Family Guy, classic gaming series Boulder Dash, Disney’s 102 Dalmations, and the multiple award winning indie hit Alien Hominid.

Most recently we’ve been the recipient of an IGF Excellence in Visuals Arts nomination for Cletus Clay, won a 4IP pitching competition with our CCTV-based g-Angel project, and a MELT innovation award for Call of the Wild.

We’re currently working with Channel 4, 4IP, and Screen Yorkshire on a number of innovative digital projects. Finally, we’re founding members of Yorkshire’s Game Republic.

“It’s an incredibly impressive conversion, especially considering how absolutely nothing has suffered coming over from the home console versions.”
